Your eyesight doesn't have to be great, my right eye's sight is pretty poor but when i had my interview my CO said my eyesight was fine. So don't worry about it too much, just see what happens on the day.

i dont know about the first bit but if you go to the RM's website it will tell you what each unit id currently doing such as training on deployed. I think at the moment its 42 and 45 commando thats in Afghanistan.

Practice military swim

Has anyone had a go at this. My careers officer offered me the chance as it was free i took it, he said it involved swimming in full overalls and you will be taught the RM's way of doing breaststroke. Has anyone else done this or been offered the chance? :D :D

There quite simple really, a currently serving marine can apply for one, receive one. They then help you with training, techniques and give you advice and tips for when you are in training. And then if you complete phase1 of training which i think is week 15 or 16 they get a payment of around £1000 ...

Psychometric test

Ive got my psychometric test on september 15th, and i just wanted to know whether it really matters what you wear, would it be ok to wear something casual like jeans or better to wear a shirt and tie. i know this isn't the most important of things but i just want to make sure i ake a good impression...

I was just wondering because i know royal marines can make money out of them and at my presentation at the AFCO they said you can get them to help you with trainig, advice on what to expect etc thats the only reason. :D

upper body strength

I'm 16 and ive just put my application in to join the RM so i still have a long way to go but i just want to know if anyone can give me some advice on how to increase my upper body strength. I'm new to the forum so any advice would be really appreciated.thanks. :D

it's 16, ive just put my application in and i finished mandatory education in June, so you can definately join at 16.hope this helps :)
