Hi everyone
Been on mfat for the last 2 years(roughly). I apologise beforehand if I've posted this on the wrong thread etc. but I'm deployed in Afghan and don't have too much time. I'm trying to get my hands on an original M83 S. African assault vest that I saw on a UK website in Feb. but being ...

Getting from the hippodrome to the kebab shop in one piece, then getting from the kebab shop to your room(also safely whilst throwing what remains of your kebab at an inanimate object like a road sign or a moving object, like a car or person). It is at your discretion wether you want to talk to your ...

I read the 3 Para book by Bishop while out in Kenya-good read but picked up a number of errors that could have been better edited.I got the feeling that it was published in a rush. All the same, interesting story and good for blokes like me who never went out the last time.

I would imagine if you joined as a Private then became an Officer you would be shipped off to another Regiment. Because your mates wont take you seriously and wont salute you I dont think. Was not a problem when there were loads of Infantry Regiments but with all the old Regiments coming as one so ...

There were a few blokes who wore glasses in depot-I think they opted for contacts most of the time. There are quite a few differences between Para depot and the rest of the infantry. Obviously fitness springs to mind.

POC
Para Reg run a potential officers course(POC) which is good preparation for applying to become an officer from the ranks, although it is predominantly filled by civvys. A few lads from 2 and 3 Para were on it a few months back.

Hey mate, I was and still am a skinny bloke and also went to uni and decided to give the Para's a try. I went into depot aged 25 and dont regret it. I did depot and got to battalion. Give it a bash and stop flapping, they'll get you to the required fitness levels(trust me
).
