Structural engineer

'allo, don't suppose any one can help me out here, I'm looking for some information on structural engineering in the armed forces. I've had a brief search on the forum, don't think it's been covered before, and I'm just about to look into it a bit more, but any help you can give me would be ...

'ere, my brain hurts after spending all day with a paintbrush in my hand, I think it's because of dodgy paint fumes though.

The sport and soccer near me always seems to be closing down and having a sale, maybe they'll be even cheaper here, best check it out tomorrow ;)

Thats alright then, as long as I keep my hands out the spindle :)

I remember reading about the bloke who lost half a leg, and managed to pass again a while ago, inspiring stuff.

Cheers for the replies ;)

Nah joiners make stuff to be fitted, doors, windows, that sort of stuff, in a workshop. The chippies fit it all.
We're the ones that work on lots of big machines that all want a piece of ya. Most the people at work have come close to losing digits, one bloke has lost one already and at college I've ...

Nine fingered recruit

Quick question for ye, how likely is it that a bloke who'd lopped a finger off be accepted for RM training?
Just wondering, I haven't lost a finger yet but there's quite a higher than normal risk of losing a finger where I work. I'm not planning on chopping one off, but if it did happen and it was ...

Frigging outrageous, in the paper today there was a kid stopped by police for driving his toy car on the pavement, and was warned he could be charged for driving without tax, insurance or an MOT certificate :-?

A fully grown man actually stopped his car, stepped out to warn a six year old kid of ...

Argh bloody hell, I thought it was too good to be true. My hands were sorting themselves out, but now my bloody toes are peeling, didn't believe it :x
Oh well, least I can't pick my toes as easily :-?

Unfortunatly I couldn't find the creams that Wholley recommended, however I did get some "Oilatum" hand cream, which seems to be doing the job. I think everything that could peel off has, and now it's repairing itself. So if any one else has any skin peeling off in huge flaps ptype problems, get ...

The gloves I've got at the moment are basically food bags with fingers, problem with these is that my hands stay moist all the time  but maybe thats a good thing?

I'll have a look for some of that cream, cheers ;)

I was thinking along the same lines on the gloves, I bought a pack of disposable gloves which I'll wear most the day. My sister says cotton gloves are the best for dry skin so might get a few pairs of those.

As for chemicals I'll look into what goes into the paint we use, other then that it's just ...

Peeling hands

Has anyone ever had the skin on their hands/fingers start peeling off en masse?
This has just started happening to me. It started by the skin on my hands becoming tougher, and I thought, "wehey, my hands are toughening up" but then after about a week of tougher skin, a couple of fingers just started ...

Nah not a bishop :-? Just a name my mates called me at school, because of my surname.
I'll have to do some research on bouldering, not heard about it, but I've discovered an indoor centre a 15 minute drive away. They run courses throughout the year that sound pretty useful, mountain first aid, and ...
