My top tip would be to do as much of your own research as possible on what a Royal Marine Officer does. If you then decide that it is what you want to do you can start looking into the specifics of how to join. It would be very easy to waste a lot of time and effort striving for something that you ...

Don't get wrapped around the axle on this one. We had a lesson which mentioned Commando 21 a few weeks ago, and even the Major giving the lecture said he wouldn't be able to describe the latest incarnation of Commando 21. Focus more on being able to talk about it generally; it being a reorganisation ...

Thanks very much. I'll have to make this brief as I'm in test week now. I've cracked the first three tests and at this very moment am preparing my kit for the 30-miler tomorrow morning. Breakfast: 0230. Coach deparst: 0300. Syndicate 1 starts 0400. Peeling myself off the floor: 7 hours later. Just ...

I am a graduate, but I would say the same rules apply if you are or not. Think about what the Board will want to hear in the interview and then use your imagination. The interview is relatively short which gives scope to milk a few good examples. As an example; one guy in the Batch used the internet ...

The AIB really is about as fair a system as you can get. As a degree is not a prerequisite for entry, there will not be points offered for having a degree, or for attending a certain university. Generally speaking if you are applying without a degree you are likely to be younger and will have to ...

Ask the Batch
I did't realise these sort of sites existed until I got chatting to a member on his POC. There seem to be a fair few aspiring YOs on here (don't do it!), and responses to some questions I've looked at seem a bit dubious. If anyone has any burning questions, fire away.

That's great news, they're bound to look favourably on you cracking on with an injury - it's almost compulsory in the Batch. From talking to you I'm sure you've got what it takes to get in. We've just got back from Ex CRASH ACTION, which was excellent. It was a real mixed bag with some quite cheeky ...

Hi Dings, I had a look for this site after chatting to you at the bar at CTC, where I was giving you a bit of advice for your upcomming AIB. I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to use it. I remember you saying you were concerned about your age, will you get a chance to have another stab at the whole ...
