Oh I don't mind doing it myself - would prefer to in fact ;)

I've seen some listings on eBay for NATO paint, but never had a satisfactory answer about whether or not its appropriate for a vehilce.

MoD/NATO Paint

I'm looking to get hold of some genuine MoD/NATO paint for my ex-Army Landrover.

Overall it's in excellent condition, but in places the paint has cracked and I want to put it right before it festers into an issue, so if any of you can help with some details, I'd be very grateful.

I bought it about ...

This was the first of his that I'd read, but I certainly going to be reading a few more as soon as I can. At the moment, I'm stuck in the middle of Churchill's 'The Second World War' - absolutely amazing, and what an extraordinarily gifted leader he was.

The Falklands War, 1982 by Martin Middlebrook

This is one of the most readable and engaging military histories concerned with modern conflict that I've read in a long time! He combines a fast-paced conversational narrative with all the factual accuracy found in Anthony Beevor's works.

I'd not previously read anything that was specifically ...

By some weird twist of Fate, the Extreme Ironing book (seen here at http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/18 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg) is written by my namesake, Phil Shaw.

I doubt there's enough room in the sport for two of us ;)

Knee injuries suck; I keep getting a touch of tendinitis there which is a source of constant irritation when all I want to do is get out and run!

Anyway, going to have a stab at triathlon this year, Dorney Lake (nr Windsor). It's quite short, 800m/20k/5k I think, but it'll be a good indication of ...

Hey don't knock it, all my best work has been done on the back of beer-mats  Everything from world domination, computer systems coded up and escape routes planned! More of the latter these days, admittedly.

I read a really good book a while back, called Food for Free -all about edible leaves ...

Ah yes, every Mountain Leader's bible. Read it cover to cover, and it's now bristling with post-it notes and bits of beer mat! ;)

I've read this book and found it a good, engaging read.

The ending is a little fanciful, in fact the whole story seems to come to a very aburpt end as though it was deliberately wound up early. I put this down to the author perhaps getting a bit bored of his topic.

His description of the "Rupert ...

Recently joined, so still finding my feet, but reading through some of the other introductions' replies, it looks like this is a great corner of the internet in which to hang out and learn new stuff.

Currently living and working in the midst of the Yorkshire Dales and enjoying the mountains and ...

PM, there is a world of difference between bullying and professional encouragement.
I was professioanlly encouraged throughout training with dangly carrots that were snatched away or given. Threats of a good slapping if we got it wrong became running round the block in NBC kit with weapon above the ...

If you can't stand a bit of bullying, how the heck can you be expected to face up to the stress of a real combat situation? Much better to find they can't take the pressure here, rather than there.

Bullying is ok to a point, if it's aimed at just a few individuals though with the only intention of ...
