I did my POC in 2002, and failed due to shin splints, and over the last 5 years have seen various orthapaedic consultants, physiotherapists and podiatrists. I have had gait analysis, orthotic insoles, bone pecking ...

A fully trained RMR bod does not have to pass P Coy to complete the basic jumps course, however as Scottish Kiwi said even 4 Para lads are waiting 12 months or more to do the course.

I also know that both regular and reserve Paras have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan without their wings. This ...

Fair enough Flo - I can see where your coming from.

Perhaps I was a bit argumentative and not taking into account that it was posted by a younger member (and that it was a few years ago) - for that I apologise. I will ensue my future posts are more constructive and less of a slagging match.

I have ...

Flo

Firstly I never stated that I was a Royal Marine and yes at the moment I am considering joining RMR Scotland.

This entire debate was born out of the fact that one person believed a pro footballer is able to TAB/Yomp/March better with weight than a Marine. I disagree on that, as I know first ...

Im not saying David Beckham isnt fit - of course he is, but he gets paid £100k+ per week and does this for a living, with a whole team of fitness advisors, doctors, physio, dieticians etc. Royal get paid pocket change in comparison and are Soldiers first - sportsmen second and have nowhere near the ...

Im not a massive fan of beckham but he would out run all of you with or with not a bergen on his back. You've got to be a lot fitter to be a football player than be a RMC.

Your a clown Lodgi - A clown that has obviously never Yomped with a bergan either.

Anyone from the RM (or anywhere in the ...

The Trainasium varies in height between 30ft - 60ft and your right, there are no safety ropes!!

To be honest, I found it the easiest test. Dont get me wrong, if you have any doubts about heights your gonna find it tough, but at the end of the day if you were 12 years old you would throw yourself ...

Yes you can wear your commando dagger. Whether this is a good idea during training and P coy is up to you....personally I wouldnt draw attention to myself.

Sorry mate but no you cant.

The Commando Dagger isnt something you earn upon passing the Commando Course (otherwise the RMR would wear it ...
