Hi, all Gnrs are trained to the same initial standard, but a couple of the Sqns require specialist skills. 26 and 27 are aligned to the Defence CBRN Wg for example and 63 Sqn (QCS) also cover ceremonial and public duties. Non drivers get a driving course at the end of their TG....normally.

If you already have a license, you will get to go to your unit early. No HGV or Bike upgrade.....However, when on Sqn who knows :wink:

Don't know about the RAF, but the RAF Regt has FIELD Sqns, and the troops trade is GUNNER. Prior to being employed on the aforementioned units some extra trg is required. I'm sure you can work out the rest.

hi mate ive got my TG course on the 20th of april and i was told when i was on my PGAC that the 32 weeks are due to the fact that you pass out at 22 weeks and earn your mudguards and then you have a extra 10 weeks which is your field gunners course in which you earn all your vehicle licences, extra...
