DLink011 - My advice would be join the RMR, and then see how you like that, you could always transfer to RM regulars when you've got your green lid.
Money isn't everything, granted, but the people who say that usually earn a decent amount.

I'll post some of what sonofagun sent to me (many thanks again), I've removed anything not needed. If there's an objection to me posting this I'll remove it immediately. Sonofagun sent the following:- The joining process is fairly simple, although i must stress that there is a lot of paperwork to be...

131 Independent Commando Squadron RE (V)
Guys, Are there any guys on here that are members of the above unit or know people who are? I'm still looking at alternatives in case I can't commit to RMR Cambridge (due to work promotion) and 131 looks appealing to both the physical and technical side of my nature, plus there's an office nearby I ...

What's the regime you've been following so far? The only reason you wouldn't be getting anywhere with any routine is that it's not progressive or challenging enough. As I'm sure you know, as you get fitter, you have to work harder to get even fitter. There are plenty of routines and regimes on here ...

Not sure on the rules about asking for the CO's permission etc. But if you were going to get married, either do it before or after RT, don't do it in the middle. If you do it before RT and the pass out you'll be able to apply for married quarters (I think) straight away. I think getting ready for a ...

Cheers CS. The only reason I might not be able to commit to RMR is because of the amount of time it takes me to get there in the evening if I take a promotion at work, weekends etc are completely free, no other reason, and as Hitchin was only 5 miles away it wouldn't have been a problem. RMR is my f...

First and foremost - Congratulations!!! Now then, there is no question in my mind what would come first... the baby, every single time!! I know the RM is important, very important to everybody, but just wait until you're a father, there is NO better feeling in the word, certainly the best day of my ...

21 SAS Locations
Guys, Is there still a 21 SAS unit in Hitchin, Hertfordshire? Just a simple yes or no answer please, I don't wish to know an address or anything else, I can find these out if I need to by phoning them. Just pondering options etc if I can't commit to the RMR as I only live 5 miles from Hitchin. Thank...

Kev, it usually takes me 75-90 minutes to get to the Cambridge Det from Luton. If I had to leave from work this is another 20-30 mins onto the journey. I've been posting on the PRMC and somebody suggested speaking to the CO about turning up late and if they would be OK with that, which I'm going to ...

What to do if you couldn't join the unit of your choice?
Guys, please bare with me as this is a long post. It seems my hopes of joining the RMR might be over before they ever really started! I've only been to RMR Cambridge a couple of times but I've really enjoyed it, I've been concentrating on my phys to get me ready for selection in March. Now then, I w...
