Sounds more like the are abolishing OMs, and training everyone up to tiff standards, except linked more closely to rate, so instead of doing all the training at the beginning, you one half at the beginning and the second half at killick->PO etc.

I grew up overseas, so the only non-family non-academic non-work people I can think of as referees are my contemporaries (mid-20s). Do you think that would be odd?

Referees

I'm filling out the AIB/1 form at the moment for the RNR and wondering who to list as referees. Apart from tutors, URNU CO and employer (who all come under separate headings, I need two "private referees" and don't know many people who would be suitable. What sort of people should I be thinking of?
