I necked about 5 redbulls before my last PJFT,done nothing for energy but I felt sick as anything!

I often take caffine suppliments and as well as countless things over the years of training,I dont think anythings ever actually given me any buzz or alertness.

What I mean is that walking is obviously a lot less intense than running (In the sense of your feet impacting the ground, thus doing no good for my almost recovered shins).

But by adding weight to a walk, does this put a great deal more stress on the lower limbs, to the point where there's no ...

Rather than start a new thread, what are peoples opinions on walking with weight? (Grass/cross country). I'm running twice a week after coming back from shin splints, and wouldn't mind trying to add in a slow hill walk session that I can build up to a run.

Does the weight counter the fact that you ...

Very brave indeed. A very good buddy of mine (Marine S Ward RMR ) is out there with 40 at the moment, and it's quite worrying hearing these incidents, new stories of lads being in the thick of it. He could have been there for all I know so it brings it home a little more I feel.

Hello mate.

Like I say, I've been trying to incorporate a bit of running each week into my training program, but its a tough one finding out whats too much, as it can often be too late.

I began running again around Xmas, a nice medium pace 3 mile route around my local country downs. Once a week ...

This is anther situation where i think people confuse the term shin splints (Very general) with an actual injury.Guys always say "i get shin splints after a run, then its fine" etc,or "i just run through it and it goes after 5 minutes" These cases are most like just DOMS (training aches from previous ...

I've never found the gels that effective tbh. I'm recovery slowly from a bad batch of shin splints (MTSS with some other funky pains!) and its been about 6 months. My current pyhsio (her field is running injuries) has told me to,especially on workout days, ice my legs for 10-15 minutes a few times a ...

I'm assuming that wasnt aimed for me?

Either way she deserved to go, but I was just trying to make a point as to how annoyed I was getting having to explain and re-explain everything, only to be told I was wrong!

I'm sure Benny didnt mean any offence.

Know the feeling mate. I had a very 'heated' chat with a young lady the otherday. When we got onto the subject of doorman (Which I am) she seems to think she was right, and completly disgregard my knowledge and experience. I was annoyed, but just put it down to typical sterotypes.

THEN. I mentioned ...

Good point mate. You dont 'need' supplements. But they are exactly what they say they are. They're there just to help you. Waters for example, is fine. But you don't just sweat water, you lose lots of salts and minerals. And some people may not eat 5 a day, plus lots of fruit etc in order to make ...

Hmm not 100% sure on the bare minimum mate. I'd say pull ups your wanting to be looking for a good 4-6. Wide over hand grip, hold for 2 seconds and then dead hang, dont go half way.

Pressups id say 40 would be scraping the barrel, so would 50 situps?

Ideally mate look to get as close to the figures ...
