Hiya Mate,

I just landed in the UK a couple of weeks ago, so am pretty much in the same boat as you.

I'm in London and sending out my CV 25 times a day through various job agencies. I phoned up Job centre as soon as I could to get a National Insurance number. You can start a job without one but ...

Er, are you sure you don't have one of those crazy mirrors from a funfair? Either that or everyone in New Zealand is f@#k fat! :o

I wish mate. Admittedly I haven't been doing much running lately, I've only just recently got back into it. And those Beers and curries have done me no favours. So ...

I am in exactly the same postion as you mate. I'm 14 stone and 6 foot 1. I've tried all the weight gainer and heavy weight lifting stuff but to no avail. Recently I've come to a decision to just screw the weight training and being all self-conscious about how I look and just prepare as best I can ...

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

And yes unfortunately I am quite skinny, I wish I wasn't and I'm not embellishing the truth either. People never fail to point it out to me, so I'm not alone in thinking it. I've tried weight gainer, high protein intakes and high calorie diets along with lifting ...

Psychology of Press ups

Psychology of Press ups

This is for the people who are intimidated by press ups. For those of you who are blessed with the genetics to do them in your sleep you may as well stop reading unless of course you want to have a laugh at us mere mortals.

Thanks Rockape_884. Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't make up his mind. As mentioned in my first post, there is just something about the RAF Regiment that intrigues me.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did you spend in the Army before you decided to join the Regiment?

Thanks Rockape_884, appreciate the answer.

Don't get me wrong I'm fully aware about concentrating on the TG course first and foremost.

The reason I ask about the CSAR/JPR role is I'm unsure about which direction to choose in life and this one sounds quite interesting. I'm an indecisive bastard at ...

CSAR/JPR

Any of you Gunners out there have any information on the CSAR/JPR role? There's a small summary on the RAF Regiment website saying where they're based and their basic role. I've also googled, searched this website, ARRSE and E-goat but its not quite what I'm looking for. I'm after more of the ...

Sorry to bring this somewhat dead thread back to life.

I too am interested in the Special Observer role and emailed the staff at 4/73 battery and have a couple of different answers to share.

First off you don't necessarily do selection after phase 2. The course is run twice (this might be changing ...

Cheers Alfa,

Yeah I noticed that mate, I guess what it really comes down to is I'm not sure what " equivalent " equates to?

I wasn't the smartest kid in school nor the dumbest, I use to scrape by and just barely pass exams. My problem was I didn't really try hard enough, why study when I could be ...

Kiwi asks about RAF Regiment

Hey there guys,

A quick introduction first. I've actually been a lurker on these forums for a couple of years, reading and comprehending (well trying to anyway) as much as I can. Recently I handed in my notice at work here in NZ, with the intent of coming over to the UK and joining the British Army ...
