Sam, Personally I took 5 days off before my POC because I felt I needed the time for rest and I knew my fitness would neither suffer or improve in that time. POC is no picnic, and you need to be 100% at the start because you'll be heading into minus figures at the end. Ding, Hate to give you a "...

My advice, I haven't a clue how they work it out. Just aim for as high as you can.
If you get near the 180 mark you will be given a helpful "Pass...just" from colours

Dinger, AIB is harder and valued more when you are examined at the final selection board. So at least you've got your priorities right. The maths, well its maths. You get some mental arithmetic, some algebra. Just find some GCSE website (or the Canadian equivalent to a kids maths qualification...

Re: Quick Couple of Questions

...which reminds me to thank dearly deadhead and brows for their amazing diaries! No problem, it's why I wrote it. This site helped me a lot when I was applying for a commission and I’m glad people are finding it useful. No doubt I’ll be referring back to it when I get round to re-applying. Can't r...

It seems the MOD has sent me my membership for this little club. And I was feeling left out... I suspected my details would be on the computer, I’m just waiting to receive another letter saying I’ve just bought a lovely new house to go with my lovely new wife. Apart from being outraged since there's...

I sure hope you lads realise I already knew how to do pressups and that I was only joking in regards to Artists post :D Didn't notice, I was more concerned about the breach of copyright to tell you the truth. Stokey, you can claim that line as your own providing you pay suitable royalties. I'll PM ...

That's my quote, unless I stole it from him. Maybe I did maybe I didn't, can never remember.

Bungy, As stated previously you don't do the endurance course on PRMC, had you been doing POC then you would have had to tackle them. I'm not claustrophobic so I didn't have a problem going through them and being quite a small bloke I felt I had ample room. But I can definitely see how some people c...

The little telling off might have carried more weight if you hadn't saw fit to insult a Regiment that you obviously know nothing about  Hold your fire. Just a bit of banter, a healthy rivalry between the Paras and the RM is one of the reasons why they're both some of the best infantry in the ...

With spelling like that you should be going for the Paras.

Post properly or not at all, this is a serious forum and posting like that is more than frowned upon.

Don't usually post on the RAF forum since I was going for RM but what I do know is 6/6 is 20/20.
All that means is what the average eyesight a person should have, 6/5 would be better than average.

Misterpurple, Don't mind at all, I enjoy talking about my experiences even if it is the more negative ones. They failed me on my AIB because it appeared I was lacking life experience. They were asking me questions like "When have you been in command of a team where they haven't listened to you?...

Gurpreet

Thinking about it, it sounds like your following the selection process for a marine rather than a marine ociffer

Are you sure you’re applying to become an officer?

Cheers Brows - I stand corrected. Always happy to correct people :D I didn't think Potential Ociffers were required to do a PJFT? Or medical for that matter :-? I never had to do a PJFT but I did have a medical. Mainly from a MOD "cover their arse" point of view so I don't have a heart at...
