Think yourself lucky in a way mate. I grew up and lived in the exact same type of area - middle of nowhere, hills everywhere, no street lamps or anything. Obviously we cant run at night, but its good training to run on grass/field/tracks as tests you more, and you dont always have the same buildings ...

I agree on the zinc oxide tape. Got too admit, blisters really can ruin you on a tab if you dont have the mental strength to block it out - and even then, its still there bothering you.
If the blisters are reasonably small, dont bother bursting them. However as mentioned before, if you so wish, or ...

I see where you are going, and totally agree. I am not entirly sure on this, but in the military, do they allow contact lenses? If they do, this would obviously be for more sensible option. However, you come down to the same problem in the end - what if you lost one of them? How would you change the ...

Not as yet, but when I get to battalion, I will be specialising in survival training. Good thing to know about, and something I think the military should have a think about, and introduce to all basic training, even if its just the theory of some of the basics.

When you get to basic, you MUST shave every single morning. It is very important, and you WILL get the necessary punishment if you do not. One reason they give, been that if you have stubble, it may imperfect the seal which would otherwise be, around your resperator.

The latest ive heard from the infantry is that lazer eye surgery is not aloud.
As for glasses, I am training with the infantry, and I know several people who wear glasses. Alot of them wear there own glasses, however if they brake, or you dont have any, the army will usually test your eyes, and get ...

Cadets is not a waste of time. It will help you out in some areas. For example, you will know some of the basic drills, and name some of the parts of the riffle. Have an introduction to military estabilishments, have recognition of some of the current vehicles, weapons, tactics, and so on. You will ...

Even before applying for the army, I was a cross country competitor, so I was doing alot of running. Running on tarmac is not bad for you, however, its not something you want to be doing alot of. Basically if you can find a dry dirt/woodland/grassy track to run on, you would be best off running on ...
