Anyone been posted to Herford, Germany?

Off there for my first posting. Would like to know what it is like there - housing, area etc etc.

Just to let you all know - passed out at Cranwell on 31st March and am now a Flt Lt. Off to RAF Innsworth for three weeks now on legal induction training!

Interview - know current affairs and all about RAF - history and present deployment etc and also all about the job (where you will train etc).

Medical - you should have declared any medical probs on your form - if not tell them there - otherwise you may be seen as being dishonest.don't get to drunk ...

I'm off on Fam Visit to Cranwell on 9th/10th December and still have not had confirmation of my medical/security clearances so you are not alone!

HAving checked with OASC today it is only the last 5 years for myself and my spouse - which could have proved a headache trying to get the addresses of places I lived in University.

Security checks BTW take between 6 - 8 weeks according to the very helpful lady at OASC.

Security Checks

I had a letter yesterday from OASC regarding the living arrangments of my wife for the year 1999 (before we met). The letter was not particularly well written and when I rang them I said to the lady there that she had lived at her parents address for the whole of 1999.

I'm on the SERE course in Feb as well (pending final clearances - fingers crossed!)

I'm also from South Wales - Newport to be exact. I'm going in as a solicitor. Where are you from?

As far as I am aware (correct me if I'm wrong) the course is 8 weeks - the first 4 will be mostly physical ...

Just done my 1.5 mile run - in a respectable 9.01 mins

Thank god my pecs are not hurting anymore!

Right I'm off to make a fruit smoothie in my new blender! :D

My arms and pecs are killing me!

Just started up the local gym weightraining and swimming in preparation for SERE course in Feb - my arms and chest are killing me!

I used to do alot of weights but I can't lift my arms at the moment - and running is out of the question as too painful!

Might have to start listening to Eye ...
