Normally PT is carried out 3 times a week ( Mon , Wed and Fri ) depending on operational comitments . Wed for some Bn is Sports afternoon but again this is dependant on unit.

If this is true things have certainly changed. Going back a few years now but the norm for a soldier serving in an ...

Dante,

At the end of the day you are an adult and it's your decision, not your parents. You are the one who has to live with the choice you made, not them. Follow the career path that appeals to you the most and which is likely to make you happier in the long term.

Also, threaten your parents that ...

I like your thinking.
Most people just say I'm dirty minded and tight fisted. I'm glad you see the logic in my ways.

Are women allowed in the SAS and are they able to get deployed into battle the same as every other man? I really don't like the women in ultimate force, I think she to, tries to hard to look hard.

You must admit though, she has a finer looking pair of breasts than Ross Kemp. I'm not a fan or even ...

marinewannabe,

I'm just wondering if you have a history of being prone to stress or depression under difficult circustances? If so it may be worth having a rethink about a military career or at least the role you would like to fill. I don't say this to put you off but at the end of the day the last ...

There's an article here that mentions the benefits of glucosamine:

Some medical experts believe that it can help maintain healthy joints and is beneficial for those whose training has a high impact on knees etc.

I don't understand what goes on in some young peoples heads. Things like obesity are fast becoming a problem in this country. Obesity in children is now a far bigger problem in Scotland than it is in the United States. The average school leaver does nothing but play video games, eat junk, take drugs ...

Some of you may be interested in reading training shoe reviews at runnersworld.co.uk. Also plenty of training advice on there to improve running.

I recently picked up a pair of Mizuno Waverider 8 cushioned running shoes for £35 on Ebay. For that price they are very decent and worth buying even just ...

To fail RSC is scandalous, especially given that the very basic standards of fitness required are clearly stated before hand.

Apart from fitness advice from ACIO there is a ton of information on physical training readily available on the internet or even at any local library. It costs nothing! To ...

At battalion you will do PT everyday with your platoon. The sessions vary and depending on your fitness you may find that sometimes when running as a group the session is not demanding enough. To some extent you will probably have to undertake an exercise regime organised by yourself.

The injury was a re-curring stress fracture in my foot which they eventually attributed to a weakness in the bone. My own theory is that at the time I never gave the injury enough chance to heal.

I have been pounding the tarmac for years now without any problems at all and am confident my doctor ...

Cheers Jase,

I was in regiment when I was discharged. Have been in contact with ACIO to find out what the score is but the best they can tell me at the moment is that I'll have to re-apply and wait to find out. The Manning and Records Office apparently has the final say on the matter and whether ...

Medical discharge - Permanent

Is there anybody on the forum who can tell me if it is possible to re-enlist in the army after being declared permanently medically unfit for army service?

What I mean is, would it be possible to challenge the declaration by sitting a thorough medical that would certify me as fit?

I just wanted to ...

Am I right in assuming the Commandos are the only force in the mil that does shooting after Fizz?

As part of the Army's Combat Infantrymans Course there used to be a march and shoot competition that involved a tab of about 9 miles followed by a shoot on the ranges. The shoot involved dashing ...
