hi, i'm currently putting together my kit for Raleigh, but I am stuck on certain items.

swim-wear . it says no football shorts, but can i still take swiming shorts, or do they have to be speedos?

socks - it does not mention socks on the list!

1x1 ltr water bottle - does this have to be a special ...

i had a quick look on google about raleigh, and a navy website mentioned 1.5mile timed run, 300m shuttl run, pressups and push ups as the required physical tests. and i'm sure i read somewhere that raleigh is a lot less strict a course than it used to be.

well i've been training for a while now. i can do the 1.5 run much more comfortable now, and have started practicing press-ups (i tried the other day and could only manage 15!!)

apart from that, should that be enough physical training for raleigh?

well, i have kept up a fairly good fitness level. mainly walking/cycling, with the odd bit of running now and then.
but i have'nt concentrated at all on my upper body strength,is it a real important part of training? :(
no trisha though, i've seen enough overweight, drug addicts to last a life time ...

i've heard some crappy news, that Geoff 'penis face' Hoon is going to cut thousands of royal navy positions.

i'm gonna be furious if by the time i start at raleigh, they say, sorry, we can't take you now. if that happens, RN should go on strike.

Try tying rockets to your trainers, that might help (it might melt your prize nikes though :( )


i have a question about raleigh, and it may sound silly, but do you get paid during the 8/10 ...

they're gonna make sure they can get as much use out of them before they return them.
parading them on television, in blindfolds, confessions etc.

and i doubt they will return all the equipment.
