I thought the toast eating thing wasn't true, i'm sure i read that eating foods that can scrape your throat may cause it to bleed and lead to needing another op to fix that.. :o

Meekon, did you have any problems from the surgery at all? Ie, bleeding, voice changing!! <-- (been ...

Tonsillectomy

Hi,

I am looking to join the royal marines later this year. But i am getting a tonsillectomy in the next 3 months, most likely in mid september. The doctor said downtime after the operation is only 1 week. Will this hinder my chances in the marines? Or do they not look at this as a concern?

I will get a local map, as the longest route i have found from my house, through the woods and back again is 3.5mile. Not bad, alot of hills so i get a fair workout from it.. anyway ...

marking out the 1.5mile run

I bought an odometer for my bike, so i can find a 1.5mile run and time myself. Not sure how they work exactly!!

I know how to fit it and it is on, but how does it know how far you have travelled?? The diagram shows it fitted near the top of your spokes/front fork, but says not to have the magnet ...

also, it makes your skin VERY fragile, your skin will actually tear or scar if you knock it in the field or on an assault course.. you would need atleast 6 months off the stuff before joining the marines, due to the nature of the work.

good luck with that, i have heard doxy works beter than oxytetracylin which is also commonly prescribed.

My problem is more the damn red/brown marks left behind rather than actual acne.. ¬__¬

I've heard of it too, this guy is working on this gel type solution you apply to your skin and it is meant to kill the actual acne right off. But for some reason the guy is ahving trouble getting funding, so it is probably a while off..

oh, do you get to bring and use your own skin care products if you get in? Obviously you would only be able to use them when not out on fieldcraft etc.. but none the less??

thanks
