A mate of my Dad's did it and used to move a treadmill into the sauna of his local gym every Sunday, to get used to the heat and water loss. That might be a good idea, along with running with weight on your back.

1:42 is a good time if it's your first ever competitive half marathon. I'm running a 16 miler in Kingston this weekend and got my race number in the post a few days ago- it's 666. A bad sign if i ever saw one!

I definitely recommend you all apply for RM if you have the chance. Otherwise you mind find yourself stuck at your desk doing a shit job at 1am wondering why you never got round to doing it...........

As well as drinking as much water as possible it might be worth checking your diet. Dizziness like you described can be due to having an iron deficiency (iron comes from, among other things, red meat). I would imagine that the food you are getting is such that it meets the needs of any recruit, but ...

Thanks, that's what I was looking to hear- basically it doesn't matter who you are, if you are lazy or a bit of a w*nker you get stick (fair enough).
