Thank you very much for the time you have taken to give me this advice Skiffle. I found many of the points you raised very interesting, i really was barking up the wrong tree, namely with cramming all my training into one session.

P.S. Oh, and thank you for explaining each point you ...

From my experience of running, cross county running (over differing terrain) is very important. There is a large difference on the use of muscles even between field running and cross country, let alone treadmill.

I recently moved from field running to cross-country. Over the same distances i was ...

Skiffle: What different advice, if any, would you give to someone preparing for a POC instead of PRMC. From a physical point of view, that is.

Would you also mind me PMing you my current schedule for advice. As from reading what you have posted here i may be barking up the wrong tree in terms of my ...

When you have your eyes tested to send off your application you need to pass certain requirements for unaided vision. I presume this is so you dont need to wear your glasses when you are out and about doing physical work. So in answer to your question, if your eye sight is good enough to join you ...

From recent experience not only is road running important, but running over 'real' terrain. I have been able to run 30km+ on treadmill and generally flat ground (tracks and fields). However, i recently ran from my town (Colchester) to a nearby town (Brightlingsea). While this is only 15km it was a ...

I may be wrong, but i would think the major advantage of a degree is the thinking and communications skills it (should) show you have. If it is in a field that may be useful on the job that is a bonus aswell of course.
