Just had a look at the link and the wealth of past and current experience the instructors have and I have to say I was very impressed.

My unit (TA) does one night of phys a month and I'm one of em folks who need constant encouragement to stay on the ball. I've asked several friends to come along ...

Seeing this post gave me a few shivers and thoughts. im 24 now, 25 in 2 months time, but I cant apply until after May next year, once ive done the bloody inter 2 maths course the afco said I had to take.
Already an Info Management graduate so ive got that sorted.

I got through the filter interview at my AFCO and they sent my app form to crawell, but i was told i need more 'life experiances' (fair enough)!! But they didnt elaborate on this! So i am now applying 12 months later as instructed. Any way last year i joined my local ATC as a C.I, which has helped ...

IF things are looking much better for april 06 onwards then I can maybe smile a bit more.
being im stuck atm doing a maths course as the afco said I was lacking in that area (its still a sore point this) and that of admin being one of the branches they want atm, which I was applying for. Left me ...

Has anyone got an idea what the ayesight requirement is for aircrew.
ive got - 3.5 on my glasses and contacts, which isnt exactly strong on the grand scale of things

I'd love to go for that! but the same stumbling block effects me :( Also my eyesight goes against me too (both sitting at -3.5)

Yeah, your right, I know what I have to do.
At the time I was just so fustraited. but im looking upon it as a blessing rather then a hinderence. As getting more time to spend on fitness and extra activities will be a help later on

Stumbling block for application

Hey
Seems ive hit a stumbling block in regard to my application. Im underqualified it seems to join as an officer!
Ive taken this as a bit of a shock considering ive spent time obtaining an hnc and a degree over the years.
Now whats the stumbling block, well its getting a standard grade level 4 ...

So during the first 8 weeks you have to take whats given to you in the room? Or is there some flexability in that you can have some stuff there? Is it ok to bring a laptop or is that something that has to wait until moved into the collage hall mess ?

Well since nobody seems to have gone so far, I best tell you what it was like since I did the first session this evening, suprised I can type at the mo as it was pretty knackering and intence, but at least it was varyed which makes the difference. Also other people there to help encurage.
