Well it's ok. Full of sprogs now though. All the senior lads are being
Ppromoted or posted so it's a very inexperienced sqn now.
I've enjoyed my time there but am moving on now. Have done 3 tours since joining the sqn. Oman, Kenya and Iraq. Been to loads of countries and ...

Well El Prez, you seem to be slightly lacking on the topic of the raf regt.
I can asure you that that there wasn't a marine in sight when i went into basra. Well apart from the special type that many of you read books about.

I'm very proud of the medals i have earned. If you would like some of your own then i will glad take a tracing and you can put them on some milk bottle lids so you don't feel left out.
You can't get fairer than that.

Not just anybody told me...................oh no.........serving members of 2 sqn whom i see on a regular basis. I'll get the tin of 'stay bright' shall i?? We've got some medals to polish including my recently received Afgahnistan medal!

Well trust me. I know people that received the medal for jumping in.
It was classed as operational.

Sometimes 3 sqn need cover if they are training abroad or field firing. Usually one of the other sqn's does the NIAT training package and then takes over.

What does everyone think about the way the RAF REGIMENT operates, their capabilities and weaponry???
The latest unit to be unveiled is the Combat Search And Rescue.
Rumours have it that it will be part Regt part RM, any body heard any thing else??

Well I know that it was classed as an operation jump and they all received a medal for the tour they did out there.
Not as flashy as it sounds but they did technically jump into a hostile country.
Para's 0 Raf Regt 1.

Also 2 sqn are the first unit to complete and pass the new jungle warfare course ...

So are your lot attached to a regular sqn at the mo. We've got a load attached to us now. 809 sqn.
