There was a Regt Bloke on my IMLC (Jan 03) and he wore his greens all the time, including when the rest of us was in Blues. I hope for your sake that the course has changed, cos you could have spent hours bulling your shoes for nothing. Hope that makes you feel better.

None of us mind having a crack with our peers and banter is part of being in the RAF. But you are not one of our peers you are the FNG. If you turn up at your first unit as a LAC with that sort of attitute, you are going to be a very unhappy lad.

If you join as a weapons technician then you will be in trade group one, It used to be the case that you could not re-muster to a lower trade group, not sure if this has changed or not. The Regiment are trade group 8 (I think). So it it very unlikely that you will be allowed to change trades once ...

The Engineering officer is gennerally quite clueless as to how the aircraft work. The experts on the subject are the Cpl's and the Sgt's. It is them that will do all the fault diagnosis, come up with workable solutions to the problems and fix the faults. The JengO's have all the theory on the ...

If you want to teach then there are coaching courses available for most sports, so you could easily become a coach if you wanted to. As for being a technician, if you get ...

Flintham block
I echo your earlier sentiments, It took me 14 years to get to the Sgt's mess and that is quite quick. There is nothing more infuriating than 21 year old aircrew giving it the big one, so take my advice and sit quietly in the corner

Bit scary that, considering yours truly is going straight in as a SNCO...

I wouldn't worry about that too much Hyper, no one takes any notice of baby aircrew anyway.
