Passed all the tests by November. Still waiting for a start date though. Hopefully I'll find out soon, can't wait to go.

Sounds like overtraining to me. Doc's right, take a break do some light non weight bearing exercise.

You can get rid of shin splints with the right treatment, a good podiatrist who specialises in Biomechanics should be able to see you right.

I get the same thing everytime I run on hard ground, try and vary the surface you run on if you can. You can also try a good pair of shock absorbing insoles or heel raises that you put inside your shoes.
