A couple weeks after insight the para regt recruitment rang me to find out if i still wanted to join up and ...

I could sit here and brag all day about people I've knocked out over a doner kebab. I used to live near a training area and came in contact with squaddies every week in the pub, most times they were a good laugh. But there's the element in the army who are dickheads and feel the need to talk with ...

I fear James may *already* be telling people he's a para... even though his basic isn't till January. If he f@#k it up and gets binned or jacks then I fear we may never benefit from his bottomless pit of military knowledge and common sense ever again - if he does pass then I fear we may never hear ...

For those who want a bit info on Basic

I've got the pleasure of being at Pirbright.

The camp is relatively small, its daunting at first but you eventually get to know faces from other troops and have a bit crack in the wrvs at night (when time permits)..your first week is a doss, you do no phys just admin, kit issue, haircut, medical ...

In 3 pouches usually, theres a pouch for 4 mags, a pouch for water bottle and I cannot for the life of me remember what I put in the 3rd pouch! This is only during basic, I think many serving soldier prefer to use their own webbing/assualt vests.

Medical Discharge (204)

I've been in basic for 2 weeks now and have been placed on sick leave until Jan, where I will get another medical.

I had an abcess on my coccyx two year ago, this is technically called a pinitidel sinusis or something, it flared up in Feb of this year and was successfully treated with Antibiotics ...
