jj, on the shoulder lift do you have to to do it on the 30 kg and 55 kg setting or do you go up till you can't lift anymore??

you don't have to workout for 4 days a week for 1.5 hours for strength gains, remember theirs a big difference between training for muscle mass as opposed to training for strength and explosive power.

Does anyone know if the Army require the actual GCSE certificates when you go for selection? or can you just produce a letter from your school saying what your grades are?

I never bothered picking up my certificates when i left school :oops: just glad to ditch the hell hole :D and as far as i m ...

Royal Engineer Recovery Mechanics??

does anyone know much about this trade and have you had any experience with them?

Interested to know more about this trade other than the official spin on it, it could appear as a military version of the AA or RAC by the looks of it!

if you've not had treatment with in 4 years you should be fine, i think the big thing they look for apart from breathing aleergies like asthma is severe hayfever and skin conditions which hamper you, oh and any long term injuries whic affect you're training, apart from that it should be a breeze 8)

nicely done mikeb, how tall are you by the way? i know from experience that if you're weight isn't under the maximum for your height you will be refused.

i was 16 stone 2 at 5'11 and tho im down to 15 stone 3 according to their Body Mass Index crap thing i've got to be 13 stone 5 to be considered ...

except that the grip you use is shoulder width and you're holding onto a high bench and not a bar and remember heaves are done from a fully hanging bottom position right up to where you're chin clears it i.e No sissy half reps

Apart from that it s identical to pull ups :D

the exact maximum for that height is 13 stone 5 lbs or 85 kg, so you're bang on.
