I don't mind living anywhere but if it was possible for me stay nearer to home it would be a bonus. I'll get in touch with AFCO soon and see what happens.

I sent off a form with my qualifications on to the Navy and recieved a letter back saying ''Your local AFCO'' will contact you in the next few weeks to arrange an informal interview.

It's been a few weeks and still nothing, i'm just wondering if this is how you got yours arranged ?

Hi, Can anyone tell me what Squadron's are actually based in Wales? If there are any permanent ones. I'm thinking of joning the RAF but i'll need to be stationed here, what are the chances of that happening?

Hylo, i'm hoping to join the Royal Navy and should have my first interview at the AFCO in a couple of weeks (sent off my qualifications to join as an officer although i'm not sure whether i'm ready to lead people yet :).

Hylô, i have a friends that have joined all branches but the more positive comments were about the RAF and Navy. i had two relatives in the RAF aswell and they said it was amazing, so i dunno.


What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
