ah right, so as a CT you won't get drafted to a specific ship? so you will be shore based but go to sea when needed?

hi, does anybody know whether there is a CT branch that works onboard subs? i.e. serving in the submarine service?

i'm going back to the careers office just after new year, to find out what sort of time frame i'd be looking at if from sitting entrance tests to going to training (assuming i passed ...

by endurance run, i mean a run for at least half an hour, i do about 45 minutes to an hour, at a reasonable pace (for me its around 8 min miles-i am just over 14 stone, i'm a big built lad). whereas your speed work will be much shorter duration, and faster pace, or including sprints etc.

just thought i'd apply, i'm ex otc in the process of applying for the navy, but i know two lads going to ctc, one is there right know i think.

make sure you do some sprint training in addition to endurance runs, but not on the same day. so many people are let down by this, and struggle as a result ...

i seem to remember Lee Clegg (if he's the one i'm thinking of, ex 3 para) was joining the police when he got out of prison, read this like last year or so.

yeah, i went to Nesscliffe a few times with the OTC...really old camp.

nobody should wear any badges, insignia or headgear or anything until they have earnt them in my opinion. but medals are different.

one of the best military history courses is at Salford University in Manchester, some damn good lecturers as well...bit of a rough area though.

or at Aberystwyth where i am, you can do International Politics and Military History (like me) and do some very interesting modules.

good luck Will, i'll pm you in a sec, i know of a guy who i was in the OTC with that may well be down there with your batch, he passed his POC/AIB a while ago and held a bursary at uni, and graduated this year.
