civvys

plus the military bleep test is differet to the civvy school and half the entrants say that they can run for 3 mile in under 20 minutes and do 50 press ups but have never done a continuous work out one after the other.

upper body strength

thats just about ll you need to do aprt from determination and passing yor interviews. upper body strength isnt that important , being fit and healthy is. i just run daily(5miles) and go gym 4 times a week.

they dont grope them lads as such,thats an urban myth, yes they get them out and give them a going over but grope, no, thats a lie, you are asked to a few lunges but thats about it , dont fret. you willhave to get them out sometime, and you will shower in groups.

raf is more about cleverness,determination and leadership skills, fitness is just a basic requirement to weed out the people who could pose possible health risks when they are older. just be healthy and have the right skills,

running

i was also told that on top of a 1.5 miler in 11 minutes and a level 9.1 on the bleep tet (shuttle run) a 5 miler in 35 minutes is needed. its hard and sounds wrong but a corporal told me this during my first enquiry

married quarters

married quarters are just like a normal quarter, on base or sometimes slightly off it with your rent deducted from your pay, they are about the size of a normal flat, sometimes bigger depending on what you are doing in the RAF, what your prepared to pay and which air base you are posted to.

FIELD TRAINING CONSISTS OF: RUNNING DISTANCES WITH MAPS REACJING CERTAIN POINTS IN A CERTAIN TIME.
