SO FAR THERE IS AN EIGHTEEN MONTH WAITING LIST FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANTS UNLESS YOU GO SUBMARINER , NO VOODOO IM NOT AT HASLAR IM SOMEWHERE A LOT NICER THAN THAT , AND MOVING ON TO SOMEWHERE EVEN NICER THAN THAT IN A FEW WEEKS , TO ALL ASPIRING MA'S HANG ON IN THE WAIT'S WORTH IT.

I am currntly working in accident & emergency as a medic where as an Ma you will learn a lot of trauma skills and bread & butter stuff such as taking blood , canulation , suturing ( stiches ) & when a major trauma comes in even emergency chest compressions and be prepared for the worst case ...

Go for it i joined at 31 as Commando Ma the training , life experiences is second to none and the best mates you could ever have , if you pass all the entrance tests then start learning anatomy & physiology.

I joined at 31 blew most of the youngsters away at fitness , and was made class leader & it was all worth it when i collected the trophys at the end , get fit and you should do ok.

Hi i am a medical assistant RN if you can do the bottom field at Lympstone then Raleigh will be easy for you , max 40 press ups & 60 sit ups to the bleep and pass your mile and half in your age group time , im 32 and i still can pass in 9 .45 .
Going Commando MA you have to complete your medical ...

Dont be fooled into thinking that a shortage branch will enter you into the naval service any quicker , im 16 days away from going to Raleigh & was told my chosen branch had vacancies but have still had to wait some time , as regard to the medical and interview its all done the same day & providing ...

Hi Chris just been down to my AFCO had to fill out more security questionaire's but to my luck i have been offerd a place at Raleigh start seventh December as Submariner MA or would have had to wait untiil next summer to be topside ma .... so i may see you there ! .

When i went along they made me do six overarm pullups before they would even talk to me about the joining the marines , i do not know if they do this to everyone but they did it to me.

I was told when you sign up for the submarine service their is no way out for 4 years , being a medic i then chose GS Medical Assistant & not Submarine MA .When the careers office fill in the form thats it but i understand that at Raleigh they do ask you if you feel you have made the right trade ...
