Comacchio Group Royal Marines

Firstly note correct spelling of Comacchio. As many will know a town in NE Italy where, during WW2, LCpl Tom Hunter won the Corps only VC of that war.

I wasn't involved in the formation of the Unit, but am well aware of ...

ANZAC Day

Allan,

my feelings exactly. This is year 7 that I have marched (ie all the years I have been here) and I don't want to see a great Aussie icon disrupted by rent-a-mob, in as much as I was warning off the guys in UK when it comes around to Armistice Day or some similar significant event.

Have a ...

ANZAC Day

Probably a stupid question, but the speed of messages to "down-under" can be really slow at times!

Is it correct that those of us who were serving in 1977 at the Silver Jubilee and didn't win the lottery, at the time, are now able to retrospectively claim a Silver Jubilee medal?

I ask, purely with ...

memories and the future

G'day guys,

well I've survived 21 May, 20 yrs on, out here in Oz. Notwithstanding a large degree of pain from the back injury, the legacy of that day. Nor the fact that I had to go to a funeral this morning, one of my 16yr old son's school friends decided to commit suicide last week, and it's been ...

Thanks TT, glad to know that a "returned convict" got his own back!!
But seriously, isn't that what all this about, the greater "brotherhood", "comradeship", or to be Australian "mateship"? All of us have been there, we are Royal Marines and none of us want to let go of that fact. And why should we ...

Well Jim T started something here didn't he? Not that I have any problem with the thrust of the argument. Out here in little old South Australia (bear in mind the State is 5 times the size of the British Isles) we have an RMA branch. And yes, when I left the Corps 6 years ago I joined, and within ...
