Anyone know what the training at Sandhurst consists of?
Pretty much what you'd expect: PT, weapons training, exercises, academic studies (war studies, defence & international affairs, comms & management studies), drill etc... Plus the usual: getting messed around, lack of sleep, hurry up and wait ...

Have to say I agree with the ban on burkhas (burqas?). Choice and freedom of expression is all well and good, but the burkha is oppressive and many muslim women are simply afraid to say so. It is also a very good way of hiding the signs of domestic abuse that many muslim women suffer from.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through 'Always a Marine' at the moment. While not the best written book I've ever read (though I doubt I could do better) I've found it to be very gripping and difficult to put down (cue joke by Doc re: glue on the cover :wink: ).

If you come across a copy, buy it. It's really worth it. I can't reccoment this book enough. The copy I've got dates back to the 1930s I think. My dad bought it in a second-hand book shop when he was a kid.
