There are at the moment 4 aircaft trades. Airframes, engines, electrics and avionics. However the airframe and engine trades are going to merge, and the electrics and avionics trades are going to merge. But i know that at the moment they are recruting still for single trades. the PJI's are all SNCO PTI's. So to join them you need to Join as a PTI, and wait until you get promoted, before you can apply to be a PJI.

I failed the apptitude test the first time I took it. My advice is to learn your multiplication tables so that you can recite them without having to think, this makes things alot easier. It's what I did, and I passed the next time easily. :D

I would'nt worry too much about failing the course, the instuctors are there to help you through, and the other people on the course will help you out as well. If you do fail any exams, you are normally allowed a couple of retakes. When I was doing trade training, there was one exam I could'nt pass ...

dawnie I've been in the raf for 15 years, and have no regrets at all, there has been some crap times, but they are far outweighrd by the good times i've had, and the many detachments i've been on. :D
