You'll be fine mate. The cutoff point is -6 diopters, plus the AGC tend to have less stricter requirements than the direct combat regiments.

RAMC

Did my barb tests last monday and scored quite highly. I was offered to try for radiographer in the RAMC, even though I dont have any A-levels. Seems strange to me but if they're are willing to train me then I'll go for it! I was just wondering if a radiographer starts off with a higher rank than ...

Ok mate here's the deal: the army does accept shortsightedness but the limit is approx -6. U should run down to your local army careers office and make an application just in case. Cant hurt to try.

Not all corps have 27 as the max limit. The AGC and Int corps have 29 as their max age, but I've ...

Not too sure about the LASEK one mate. Just need some info from u so I can try and give u an opinion:

1:How shortsighted are u?
2:How old are u?
3:Have u had any problems with your eyes apart from your vision?
4:Has your vision remained stable for the past couple years or has it decreased ...

Why not just try for the RCB and let them judge if you have the confidence to become an officer mate?

Confidence is an attribute that comes naturally to some individuals but can also be induced through delegation of responsibility (something you'll encounter a lot of in the forces). The RCB are ...

Is it an absolute must to have A-levels to apply as a soldier for the Int corps? My recruiting officer told me they prefer people who have passed their RCB. I dont have A-levels but I have 7 o-levels including French. I also speak fluent Norwegian and German. Would this maybe compensate for not ...

Say they were to find something in my system; is that an automatic bar to joining the forces or does it depend on the substance they find? I intend to tell them straight up before they take the test anyway.

Illegal Substances

I was just curious: do they give u a drug test when u go to the RSC? And if so what type. I'm up for an RSC soon and was quite stupid last weekend :( . (cannabis)

Bit of a bummer since I dont do drugs as a habit or anything. Thanks for any candid replies.

received a call from the ACIO last week. Apparently the army specialist was satisfied with my surgery and I've been cleared for the RSC. Looks like u were wrong about -6 cut off point. Mind you, the specialist did mention that it was a sort of limit to applicants who've had Lasik performed so I ...
