Just a thought here (mainly directed at Combat Wombat)
bear in mind the average age of an infantry soldier
Is it a mature higher number?
or closer to the early twenties?
British Soldiers, Sailors and that other lot have over the centuries visited far off lands, conquered them, built a pub and set up ...

Just a thought here (mainly directed at Combat Wombat)
bear in mind the average age of an infantry soldier
Is it a mature higher number?
or closer to the early twenties?

Recruiting;
Out of date figures, but last I heard the Army (might of included the 'other' lot too :) ) was not meeting its targets to simply maintain the current strength by 8,000.

Numbers for the forces can be found Here
Obviously in times of old the forces in general was a lot larger than it is ...

Not taliban :)
Saw the website it's off, forget the nationality but iirc it was either American or Indian.
The gun's called T-Rex, I forget the insanely high calibre but suffice to say it would make an elephant gun feel 'inadequate'
The source of the video are a bunch of *ehem* not so smart people ...

An interesting topic.
You do it because
a) Your told to.
b) You are part of a Regiment, most of which have a history going back hundreds of years, some of which have done great things in their own shorter history. All of which have seen acts of heroism that are unmatched in any other occupation.
