From what I've been told, there is sweet f* all I can do, apart from re-apply again in 16 months, providing that the heart murmur doesn't turn into something the Army fails you for.

Time to go find another suicidal office job... great.

Deferred - 16 months due to a single reported migraine to the doctor just over a year ago, plus a heart murmur.

Just got back from the GP, and she can't hear anything of a murmur... so
Booked in for an Echo scan or something.

Cheers fellas. I'll post on Wednesday with as much info as possible.

S**ting myself about the run though; I've been doing some really poor run times over the past few days... I'm not sure what's going on :(

found it was half a mile short! I had a similar problem, if not the same problem with mapmyrun and Google maps, but what really boggles me is that mapmyrun uses Google maps, so how the f* can my run be two different distances :o Ran an embarrassing 1.5m in 12:00 minutes today :-? That said, it was ...

Afternoon Benny. I asked the very same question on another website this morning, and got quite a good reply, so I'll pass this on to you. Its a wooded track beside the river. You run to a fence, round the fence and back where you came. Its a easy route. Most people improved on their times. And a sec...

1 YORKS

Evening folks... I have one or two quick questions about 1 YORKS that I can't seem to find answers to, I'd appreciate it if anyone could help. I'm waiting on a date for my ADSC and have chosen 1 YORKS as my first choice, now I was told during my interview that they would be moving to Germany... I'm ...

From what I was told by the Sgt I went to see at my local AFCO, you still have to pay NIN and Income Tax on your wages. I didn't ask if that's the same when you're overseas, so I would be interested to know that too. Edit :: You may be better of making a post over at the MilitaryForums here -> http:...

Back when I was training to get fit, I joined a gym and from my experience... a complete and utter waste of money. Sure, you get a nice cool environment, water on tap and the other 'luxuries' within the gym but at £50.00 a month... for me, a waste. I'm starting up my training next week and have it a...

Back when I applied for the regiment, I was told to swat up on current affairs and such but when it came to the interview, it was all about me, and I only got asked two questions; 1 - What does NATO stand for & 2 - Where I could possibly get posted; I worried too much about nothing. I would say ...

Afternoon all. Sitting my BARB test on the 14th, fingers crossed I get a good score :) I've been told if I'm successful in all areas and get in, I should expect to receive a fair old amount of stick for being a ginger , could anyone shed some light on this? I've read some of the stories about skiffi...

Well now I'm just confused.

I called the AFCO this morning only to find out that I'm 'not suitable for service' or something, which he basically said means I can never apply again. :o :-?

They have given me an address to write to, see if they can give me any information.

Not sure why they said no, I think it they just sent me a standard rejection letter... that said, they didn't keep me waiting; I only went for the interview on Wednesday just gone. I thought the interview went pretty good; I did all the necessary revision about the RAF and the Regt, it was probably ...
