The UK has a Muslim population in excess of 2 million, why are they all here and in other Western countries? It can't be the weather! It can't be the food, nor the support of Bradford City, Luton Town, Oldham Athletic or Peterborough United. It can't be our economy which is one of the highest taxed economies in the world.
The term 'takeover' has willful connotations with 'hostile' undertones.
I don't know that this is what we're seeing.
From the outside looking in, so to speak, it does look like it, yet I'm woefully ignorant of the views and attitudes of so-called 'moderate' muslims.
I wonder sometimes whether those 'moderate' muslims are somehow bullied or otherwise pressured by extremists into denouncing the West or just plain remain silent.

They come over, buy a shop, own it for just short of a year and then sell it on to another member of the extended family for bobbins. Then the process is repeated year on year.

I see where you are coming from Loz, but the expansion of Muslims throughout the world is a bit like when the CIA investigated why the Chinese in the 1960/70's were 'relocating' to many Western Countries. There was no answer given but there must be a reason like Chinese Takeaways or Muslim Takeovers. What attracts them here? They can't all own shops can they.................

A lot of people come here so they can make money from the country, the same way a lot of westerners go to Saudi to make a lot of money from the country.

Josh, many westerners do go to foriegn lands to make money, and many foriegners come here to do the same, the only difference is, the westerners actually work for the money, the riff raff coming to this country just turn up, get given a hand out, a mobile phone, a house, in some cases a car..........shall i go on?

The recent outgoing Prime Minister of Malaysia suggested that there would be world domination by Muslims within 50 years, perhaps no one else read this.
I also think that Westerners can contribute more expertise to Muslim countries than Muslims can to the Westerners. The spread has been rapid in the UK, suddenly in 50 years we have two million or so Muslims (mainly) in an enclave environment. 50 years ago loads of West Indians appeared on the scene, some seemingly have gone to pastures new.
Albania was much the same, Spain is fast becoming swamped with 'refugees' from North Africa, Italy too has a problem, and internally Russia. Australia don't want them, Britain seemingly does require them.
They cannot be refugees as they are not seeking political asylum in the first safe neighbouring country from their own. They burn passports and other documentation before they arrive here, they appear to all know their statutory rights, (how many of you can afford a lawyer at £100 per hour) the British Government (namely Jack Straw) was overruled by some Human Rights Court last week as two Muslims escaped from the Woomera (Australia) Detention Centre, then found that the Oz Government wouldn't grant them asylum so they ended up on the British Ambassadors doorstep seeking asylum, this was refused, now it has been overturned.
We have in the UK a Muslim Parliament, why, what is wrong with our Parliament elected by the people for the people, so is it a takeover.......
The problem with islamic immigration into this country is that most of the new arrivals are peasants. Many of them are ignorant people who have no desire to integrate, they gehetoise themselves in ever growing communities, they do not wish to assimilate British culture. Many of their "community leaders" are as ignorant as their flocks.
They have imported the concept of honour killings to resolve marital disputes. Many take heed of what the radical muslim clerics are saying. They have desecrated many towns and cities with their minarets and mosques. They demand islamic culture, the practice of shariah law, and the islamisation of our institutions.
Most of the people making these demands are ignorant semi literate peasants. They are in thrall to a middle age religion that can condone such things as female circumcision, suicide bombing, stoning to death for adultery,and flogging for taking alcahol.
I do not believe there is a "prepared" islamic take over taking place, we do, however face a major threat to our way of life if we just bimble along
the way we are.
Political correctness gives the islamists lots of cards to play while leaving us half a deck.
We in the Christian World have progressed so much that most of us are no longer christian, religion does not control our lives anymore. We want freedom to express ourselves, they want the freedom that our institutions offer to supress us.
It will all end in tears.
