Russ Williams

Post by Yorkie Malone »

I'm very sorry to report the death of Russ Williams ex C/Sgt SA, 41, Cdo Logs, Air Sqn.

He was killed in a motobike accident, and lived in Leicester.

Don't know any more details as yet.

His wife is looking for Steve Morris (see lost oppos)

Sad thing is there are more killed by RTA's than in war.

Absent Friends

Post by Dave Asher »

Very sorry to hear the tragic news about a true, loyal and valued friend. It only seams like yesterday that I was sitting next to him at his top table, how the time slips away so fast. Why are we men so notoriously bad at keeping in touch as it was only yesterday that I was talking to my wife, (whom also knew Russ very well, having served with him at Yeovil and CDO LOGS) and how I had not heard from him for ages. If Russ had a fault it would be trying to please everybody not just some of the time but all of the time and hiding my computer screen in HQRM with copious amounts of POST IT stickers (sure he had shares in the company!). He will be greatly missed by us all. Love to Karen and family in their time of sadness.

:( Very sorry to learn of Russ's departure. He worked with me in HQRM and RRFOS in Bosnia and was a very valued member and friend. His approach was always professional. My wife and I had several enjoyable 'beers' with him at Whale Island. Russ is gone but never forgotten. My family sends their regrets to those Russ has left behind.

Shocked is an understatement.

Served with Russ at HQRM.

Belated condolences to his family.

I served with Russ on a couple of ocassions and we shared vehicles when his beloved motorcycle would not play, a great athlete and thoughtful man, sorely missed![/quote]
