What a fantastic reception London gave the RugbyWorld Cup Players, coach and supporting staff. That really was a fantastic show, well done to everyone who participated and organised the event. I just find in the past two weeks my pride in the country has risen by an enormous amount and how nice to see those thousands of flags bearing the cross of St George being hoisted aloft and so many people enjoying themselves.
hear hear i second that/....waiting for the lawsuits to be filled as they where been racist and not consoling the ausies........

It's absolutely fantastic the feeling of pride felt by almost every English person in the country after the Rugby World Cup victory.
Now wouldn't it be absolutely even more fantastic if that feeling of pride could be increased a hundred fold and transferred to our feeling of pride in England?
Just think of the power of the people if only we could show that feeling of pride every day. I have no doubt that we could kick the PC brigade into touch and that we could take back the ownership of our own country. We are a caring people and never have any hesitation in giving comfort and succour to those in need, but why the hell should we allow the PC losers and other do-gooders to make us into second class citizens in our own country.
Why do we allow our weak and greedy leaders to turn this country into the cesspit of the world.
I suppose I had better lock the doors now as I expect a loud knock anytime
Its a funny old world.
A man kicks a funny ball over some poles and he's classed a hero.
Yet there would be hell to pay if anyone should suggest a parade for our boys in Iraq.

You can shove PC right up your ar$e for me and lets have the lads marching through London; drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed and whilst we are at it we could have a grey funnel visit and a fly past as well!
I'd better go an flail myself with nettles for even thinking such a non PC thought NOT!
It was a good day for rugby and more and more people are now supporting the local games! £50 a ticket for a football match or £8.50 for a good game of rugby... I know where my money would go if there was any decent rugby round here!
Drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed...

I agree what a fantastic reception London gave our boy's, made me so proud to be English. Seeing all those St George's flag's in the air, hanging of building's draped across building sites.
Once again well done to the lad's.
I think Nelson had the best view

Sticky Blue,

You can just see the crap it would stir up.

The immaculate, modest players.. could a mother have a better set of roemodels for her children?. Astonishingly, many left early, as they had training the next day
The total lack of trouble.
And as much as everything, the sight of people not scared to show a little national pride. I saw a few interviews, and a lot said it was a chance to show pride in england.. I think for so long its been considered wrong to have pride for your country.
I half expected to see red ken appear, confiscating all the george crosses and handing out eu flags ;p
after all chirac described it as a "victory for europe"
Just wish it was on a weekend, my boss made it clear, if i didnt turn up no "illness" would be believed.
after all chirac described it as a "victory for europe"
I haven't seen that but you've got to be kidding, right? What a cheeky Kermit. Oh well, I suppose it’s not the first time the French have claimed the victory after a humiliating defeat, at least they’re consistent.
Hey Chirac,
You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
Ahoy there!
What a scene!
Tremendous atmosphere! Very emotional. Great to see former Royal Marines PTI, Dave Tennison on the second bus. I wasn't quite close enough to attract his attention.
BUT!......................
Who on earth thought that it would be a good idea to allow Ken Livingstone to make a speech. That went down well with the crowd then. He might be the Mayor but he can hardly claim to be a patriot.
There are many parallels to be made with the 1966 victory. But a glaring difference is that in 1966 England were cheered by fans waving the Union Flag (indeed the mascot World Cup Willie wore a Union Flag vest), this time it was the Cross of St George. Perhaps the English perception of identity and nationality has shifted.
