So he's out on his ear.
What happens next?
On another thread I noticed that there are four political parties in the UK now.
News to me.When I was a kid there were three.Labor,Liberal and Conservative.I mean mainstream parties and not Lord Sutch and his Ilk.
Someone mentioned the UK becoming the 51st US state, while a lot of Americans would find that interesting too say the least,I don't think it would work.I think a referendum in the UK regarding the EU would wake some of your politicians up a little.Repaired ties with the Commonwealth and less reliance on the US is the way for you guys to go imho.
Less immigration would probably help too, though we have yet to learn that lesson. That or MAKE the Bastards assimilate.
English is supposed to be our language but Bush repeatedly speaks Spanish on our own soil.I think that sends the wrong message.
Oh Well,
Not such a rant this time.

Assimilation. Yep that do be the way to go. Look at us, we don't make people assimilate, 3 generations later we have lost our national identity.

As for parties, I like lots of independent parties, keeps the big boys honest. Bush does speak a bit much mexican, then again Clinton played the Sax with the spooks.

I think the IMF owns the world, the UN is its military wing, get used to it or get organized.

Wholly to be honest who gives a f@*k, I mean he had no chance of becoming Priminister. But in his defence he did everything the party asked him to but they still stabbed him in the back. To be honest I don't think he ever had a chance of succeeding, well as being Priminster any way. Poor sod :(

I think thats an interesting point of view.
When you think about it,it would make more sense than the UK going in to Europe.Already English speaking,if your going to change currencies, why not the US Dollar instead of the Euro. You could probably keep your State flag too.(Err,no...Hawaii already has it).
I think seriously that the UK should stand alone. It has for hundreds of years and should be able to again with the help of the English speaking Commonwealth.Initial entry into Europe REALLY p*issed off the Antipodean's some years ago.I reckon some bridge building with them would be of immense help to keep Britain British and for Britons.
That's my two cents worth.

PS. I also would rather be an American than a Frog(Obviously).

Kwew,

I don’t agree with the UK being absorbed into the EU but, I also don’t think becoming a state of the US would be any better. Lets face it the UK would become the US Hawai’i in the Atlantic, a place for retirees who want to live in a rose covered cottage and a tourist destination for folks who want to see castles and Shakespeare’s birth place, in which case you’d get a better deal signing the country over to Disney than the US congress.

Wholley is right that the UK should stand alone, historically the UK built it’s wealth by maintaining the status quo and not by trying to create, through force, a unified Europe like ‘the little French general’ or Hitler, taking Christianity to the world like Spain and Portugal or selling democracy to people who don’t understand or want it like the US is trying.

It’s the middle men who make the money.

Lads i totally agree with you i would much rather UK remained as it is but we all know the as the years go by things change, UK would probably join forces with other members/former memebers of the commonwealth but i think thats got about as much chance as jesus being my unborn child(not that i have an unborn child, see my point :D ). So the next best thing would be the 51st state. UK could keep its own laws and traditions like each state does but in effect would rule itself but under the Yank flag.
Im all for a super nation of the US AUS NZ CAN UK, i wish that was the future if UK had to join anything.

the United States of America + Britain
Good in prinipal..we'd be alot richer too.

Umm i can see where your comming from kwew... Still have big Tony as state govenor to mr.bush as it might aswel be now.

I think a strong commonwealth would be just as useful as a strong europe....maybe both could work together?

This one europe idea is doomed from the start. Its like children at school trying to orginise something with no decisive figure....all have there own ideas and attributes but cannot accept other peoples above there own, the introduction of eastern european states will unaid the process as it will deepen the debate as they want money for reconstruction, public services etc after years of war and civil problems.....will the bigger counrties willingly give them it? i think not, not when britain pays £100,000,000 a week in Iraq and France Etc are unwilling to help, they should just say you pay for the balklans and we'll pay for Iraq and Afghanistan etc ..causing more divides. A single european state could never happen or for at least 50years yet.

Cheers, davo

No the UK should not be a party of anything US or EU. The UK's problems can be solved by its own people. Look at you, you never needed anyone to hold your hand before, nor do you need that now. Your people like ours have become complacent as demanded by your politicians. The Monarchs should be kept , it is you history, like Washington for instance, people want to get rid of his name here in the states because he owned slaves, but if we denounce our founding fathers then who are we? What will we become? The US economy thrives on consumables, as long as we can make shit people want then we will have a hegemony. When people get tired of buying crap then our economy will slow. So 51st state isn't the best idea, although I hear the US wants to buy Canada, don't see it happening though.

Wouldn't that be some ironic shite though if the UK became a state considering we were a colony. Really though, you Brits really need to get control of your situation, like I as an American can talk, but we are trying, we'll see next election. England was a role modle for the world, your politicians have sold you out, same as ours. We can vote ours out, not sure what you guys can do. I figure you can do something. Resist change is the building block to your problem, then when you slow the beast down change its course. I have a feeling that college students in this country will go to the polls this next election and shock the world. Perpetual war, loss of jobs and jack shit to show for it has awakened the silent majority.

So can you guys vote for your parliment or how does that work? Maybe you could start a restore the monarchs powers? I figure the Queen could lead if she was allowed. You could put Tone in the tower of London. That would be funny. We ain't got a tower, we have Los Angeles. Anyway funk the NWO. Bring the life that made sense back I say.
