Steve Chew - My Dad

Post by LittleChewy »

Hi All,

What a great site to have found at such an unfortunate time.

Sadly my father Steve Chew died today, he was 48. He served as a Royal Marine from 1971-1986.
I thought i would post this message to see if any of his old pals might see this and possibly get in touch. Fingers crossed.
You may remember Dad being a very good sportsman who excelled at Football and Volleyball.

Thx Mark
I am the very proud son of the most wonderful father anyone could have.
An ex Royal Marine Commando who served 15 years between 1971 - 1986.

Your Dad

Post by Mike »

Mark...
I'm afraid your Dad was a wee bit after my time. Your sentiment towards your Father do you proud.
I am sure we all, on MF, join Andy and Loz in sending our condolences. May he rest in peace.
I hope some of his Oppos find your post....Come back on MF and and tell us if they found you.
Aye
Mike

You will already know that we marines are one big family, our best wishes for you and the close family. As for us, we have lost a family member too. Your Dad would have been in training or fresh out of it as I left the Corps, but he was a marine, and this world needs marines.

Knew your dad little chewy.

If memory serves he was in the driving branch. Good at footie and a good laugh. Very sorry to hear of your families loss.

We served in 40CDORM Alfa coy. When we were both GD. And later in CDOLOG.

LittleChewy,
like so many others I never knew your dad personally but he, and you, as Mike said are family. Stick around, you might enjoy it. I'm sure some of the story's you read on here are similar, if not the same, as your dads dits!

My condolences to you and your family Chewy - I know it's difficult now but it does get easier (my Dad was also ex-RM) and I'm sure your Dad was as proud of his send off as I'm sure my Dad was.

You know where we are if you ever want to chat ;)
