Combination Padlocks
and a pair of cycle shorts (works wonders to avoid chafing from kit)

Also complain about your boots say they give you blisters and they will issue you with a new pair (everyone does it)

When I was called up you had to send your civvie kit back home, apart from a writing case, my razor and shaving brush that is all that I we were allowed. This meant if you went over the wall the MPs could soon spot you as you could not blend into the into the civilian population. Now you seem to have as much civilian kit as you have military.

Fleece (3 in 1 jacket) would be ideal.
Mini maglite.
Swiss Army knife.
Tent pegs.
Some good nylon cord.

You may not be allowed some of the above but you never know.

Good luck.

You seem to have covered all areas, I wouldn't worry to much, Catterick has plenty of shops if your missing any little bits and pieces, and you are provided with a kit list for a reason, anything not on there is just optional.

This is the second thread you have made, in the same section of the forum, saying the same exact thing, that's simply annoying lol.

On his kit list he would have been told to not bring any knifes or weapons, even as small as Swiss Army Knifes.

You have a Kit List, buy everything on that, buying extra things that people tell you will most probably just be a waste of money for you, most of the stuff on the Kit List won't be used, so save some cash and don't waste your time buying junk, you seem to have all the important things.

yes young man,all you need is a strong pair of arms,to carry all of your army kit back to your barricks, then go back for your bedding,it could have been worse, you could have went to oswestry, now that was a place.if anybody went there in the early 50s,all you took was what you stood in and shaving kit, they supplied every thing else,by the way get yourself a good hair cut,or they will do it for you, best of luck mate
