Hi,
I'm just after some advice really. About two years ago I terminated my contract with the British Army. Un-fortunately I only managed to get to week 10 of my basic training. I left due to personal reasons.
After going from shit job to shit job in civilian life. I've decided that I'm going to have another go atthe forces. It's now or never. The only difference is, this time round I have my own family.
The two areas I'm looking at are the Royal Signals - electronic warfare and (I know this is an army board) The Raf regiment.
If anybody is currently serving or has served with the Royal Signals, if possible please could you give me an insight into your experiences in terms of promotion, lifestyle, available courses and whether you would recommend the royal signals as a good foundation for follow on careers.
kind regards
Chris

Re: Some advice needed.
hi everyone im new, i just found out off that i have been medically rejected permanently but i have also been told i can appeal, the reasons i have been rejected is because i used anabolic steroids 6 months ago and also in 2005 (7 yrs ago when i was 12) i was referred to a child psychologist as i was i hyper and giddy child so they wanted to check if i had ADHD however i was never diagnosed with any conditions......i am so disappointed and i cant imagine life without the army as its in my blood with both my granddads serving , im expecting some of you to judge me on what i have done with the steroids just as the army have judged me on a piece of paper b4 they have even give me a chance, i have had a mixed up childhood and a rocky time with my family so i know iv been an idiot but i know i would make a great infantry soldier. Can any1 tel me if they think i have a fighting chance of an appeal or if they know of any similar cases were someone has been successful with an appeal, all feedback is much appreciated Thanks.

Hi, I am due to start Phase 1 as a Royal Signals - Communication Systems Operator, altough I haven't a major insight on the Job itself not having started it yet, but I have spent a week away with them on a look at life corse which was great, and I have family and friends already serving in the Royal Signals, as you already probebly know you will be starting as a Lance Corperal which is already a great start, after 1 year you have the opertunity to apply for specilist posting with the Infantry, Special Forces, Paras and much more which appearntly is the one of the fastest ways of acheiving promotion.
You may already know everything I have just said but I thought I would give my 2cents lol.
