Sample discharge letter.

Greetings all.
Myself and some fellow students are making a short film about a returning soldier who has lost the use of his legs. He is in a wheelchair. His legs may not be permanently damaged, but it is unlikely he would ever serve in the army again. One of the scenes shows him receiving a letter from his unit stating that he is not making progess, or words to that effect.
Does anybody know how the letter would look/sound? has anybody received such a letter, or know somebody who has.
Also there is another scene where he looks at a picture of his father on his bedside cabinet. He was also a military man and inspired his son to join the army initially. Basically I would like a picture to use in the film and would like to have an authentic person rather than a random google image. So is there anyone out there middle-aged who has a picture of themselves in a military uniform that would like their picture featured in this short film?
Thanks to anyone who can help
