First post, apologies if this is in the wrong place.
Cutting a long story short, there is a chap in my area who claims to have been a captain in the paras. He doesn't have the regiment tattoo, and frankly doesn't have the body type that would have stood up to the para training. He is listed on www.parachuteregiment.co.uk and paradata.org.uk ( including a video interview about Northern Ireland , definitely him ) .
The reason for my post is that he is very odd, and his conduct is slightly predatory where younger girls are concerned if you get me. I know his name but won't post it on the forum for obvious reasons.
Thanks in advance
Emma

Doesn't sound much like a Para to me - they prefer getting round their crows. Could be Royal.conduct is slightly predatory where younger girls are concerned
Re: guy posing as ex para
Hopefully our maroon beret main man will be around shortly, he might have more answers... over to you Tab.
Re: guy posing as ex para
If he is on the PARA Data site then they would have checked him out before posting on there. They would not enter my posts until they had confirmed that I was who I said I was on the Para Data base. Every one that has been a paratrooper is entered on a special list kept by the PRA, also there should be a photo of them at No1 Parachute Training School at Brieze Norton. I even found my photo in the museum the other year and that was over 50 years since i had left them.
Body size, well they are not built like gorillas, and I don't have have a Regimental tattoo either, but I was still Para, and I know of thousands of lads who did not go in for them either.
Well his interest in young girls has nothing to do with which unit he served with

Oh dear, you have misunderstood the original post. My point was that he was using the stories from the parachute regiment to impress young girls. I do believe that you have the wrong end of the stick. Please read it again .Tab wrote:

Lol a few people may have gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick with the way you have phrased your comment Emma.emmaberkshire wrote:First post, apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I know myself certainly did that is why i waited before posting. The statement above could have been worded better as many will jump to the wrong conclusion.
Probably would have been better just saying trying to use his stories to impress young ladies...
Re: guy posing as ex para
I think my words about his interest young girls was well chosen as nothing else was implied. Yours words about being a predator would mean he preys on them which every one would think what it implies.
