Is there anyone out there from C company/40 Cdo of Falklands vintage who would go for a crash move reunion, all the other buggers seem to be having one? :o

C Coy

Post by John Marshall »

Hello All
good to see u made the effort to raise C Coy again Jonno. I am in touch with Mick Truelove and George Bates and can pass the messages on to several others, Andy King, Ian Burden and Tony Kelly etc. Russ Craig is I think out in Afganistan as 45Cdo RSM and although not with us on Corperate I am sure u will agree he should come to a reunion. Nice to see Tim Cahill's and John Rankin's name and to see some of the others are still in touch, is that Fitzy who went to be a driver and was from leeds Tim?? Has any body heard or know what happened to JR Marshall ??? I have a very large pic of C Coy on the flight deck of Canberra if any body wants a copy let me know, I got it off Ian Burden who got all the negatives off the unit phot as he was about to throw them out post FI.

Johno, your doing a top job! A few more names and we're there. John Marshall, me, Tim Cahill, Paul Johnson and Fitzy would all like a photo. I always wondered where they went!! Fitzy is Paul Fitzgerald from Leeds. Your Fitzy is Paul Fitzsimmons also from Leeds. Last time i was in touch he was a V.M. at Yeovil (approx 10 years ago). Johno if all else fails, wer'e going to the SAMA 82 North Reunion in July - all welocme. See the SAMA website.

40 cdo falklands reunion

Post by spike kelly »

hi all. there is a reunion for 40 cdo at norton manor camp on 27 may 02 starting at 10.15 am. it has been badly publicised but it is happening. incidentally, it is also the 20th anniversary of mac macandrew's death on that day so a service will be held at 1100hrs. afterwards all those attending are invited to the sgts' mess. if you want to come plaease contact me through this site or by calling me at work; maj spike kelly, bao, norton manor camp, tel 01823 337966 ext 4243. please pass the word.

Reunion

Post by John Marshall »

Had a call from Mick Trulove this evening, Chris Pretty had phoned him out of the blue today to say Lt Aimes (2i/c C Coy) was trying to organise a reunnion for the Company in July in London. Start racking your brains for contacts and addresses so we can at least let people know even if they don't turn up. Mick and I are trying to trace George "Doc" Black. We could do with puttng a central list of C Coy contacts name and addresses some where, any one any bright ideas, perhaps an e board???. Any body know what happened to J R Marshall???

Later dudes

John Marshall

P S still havn't priced the Phots up, will post costs when I have them

Got you at last

Haven't seen you since the RMR Mersey Summer Ball back in 97 (I think), yes it was a great weekend catching up and telling stories etc. Hope all is still going well. Incidentally, Craig Brooks put me onto this website (we stay in touch on a 'monthly' basis) so as to find out more about a possible reunion.

I'm currently Sgt major of O Sqn FPGRM up in not-so-sunny Faslane Ext 5644. Chris Pretty rang me last week and kept me updated on things from his end (SAMA etc). I then E-mailed Blue Young (in New Zealand) & Terry Barnes to alert them of this site. Craig is very anxious to find out if anything is happening.

Although I'm still in, I'm extra gutted now that I know that there was a 40 Cdo ceremony earlier today as I was available to attend (if only I knew. Tony Kelly, if you read this, let me know if anything else is afoot).

Nevertheless...Mac MacDonald (7 Tp) is the PT&SO in the Gym at Poole, Rocky Roberts (7 Tp) is on the drill staff at CTCRM, Mick truelove is the Gym Sgt Major at CTCRM, Matt Harris has just gone outside and is working on the Cruise liners as a security officer (don't know which one), Steve Pritchard is now doing Matt's old job at Stonehouse (WLSNCO), Huey Reed is working/living in Dubai and I think Bill Stevens (8Tp) is now a VM in 40 Cdo.

I last heard that Nick Holloway was the OC, RM driving instructors Det at Leconfield. Anyway, stay lucky and keep us informed.
