Can you apply to join the pathfinder platoon when your in the paras or is it just done on selection of the best

Pathfinder Platoon is Tri-Service these days so is open to the whole of the Armed Forces. However, the Paras still make up the vast majority of the Platoon.

Therefore anyone can apply for a place on one of their recruitment cadres, but those who's skills or fitness aren't up to scratch will be weeded out so that only the best will be selected to join the Platoon.

Get your beret first and then worry about the Pathfinders. They will be looking for people that have seen a bit of action rather than some on that has just joined them.
