Just really as an aside,my partner is a lead teacher in a upper school in Bedfordshire. She is currently thinking of early retirement as the BS she has to deal with is making it almost impossible to actually teach.
Most comes from'Ofsted'whatever that is and the rest from the government.I saw a'Directive'she had been sent and could not understand a word of it.All bureaucratic double speak with absolutely no meaning to anyone apart from the author(No doubt a highly paid civil servant)I cannot vote in the UK as I'm an ex-pat,but it seems to me the government is top heavy and with too little to do apart from interfere in citizens lives.Barack Obama is a little left of center and I didn't vote for him but Gordon Brown can just about get away with anything provided he doesn't piss of the Scottish.
Best,
Jefferson Davis.

seventy%ruling the remainder?
Gis a job,I can do some ruling or do the remainder work for the EU?
Great Britain seems not to comprehend just who her real allies are.
The French? The Germans?I don't think so.Just get a sea-going Tug and tow westward. No need to sling a hook at Ireland as most of them live in New York already

Yers - enjoyable this thread ....
We've just read that the government last year gave 12,000 new jobs
in - yes - the government body - more bureaucrats -
Once upon a time it was cutting each others hair and selling each other
hamburgers - now everyone is working fo the government - strains of
1984 come to mind.
Also read about the Italians paying off the Taliban so that they could
just amble around on walkabout - a bit like 'Allo 'Allo I suppose........
He with the feathers and medals -
A bit like England selling a bit of land to the Vikings in order to pacify them
- still called Danelaw to this very day .....

Na,Bedford.
But as soon as I get home to the USA I'll change my name back to Pedro Martinez,or Martinez Pedro or maybe Alonzo Alonzo then I can go to my old job in formula one.At least I wouldn't have a stupid name like 'Jensen'
I had the sense to name my children with good Anglo-Saxon names although my son never really forgave me for naming him'Vlet The Slayer'
My daughter didn't appreciate'Solvig The Slut'either.
That's the problem with kid's today,no sense of humor

The BS was why I left the police in 96 and migrated to Sweden, before it got really bad.Wholley wrote: currently thinking of early retirement as the BS she has to deal with is making it almost impossible to actually teach.
Speaking to London coppers that I know that are still there, they say to me "James you wouldn't recognise it, the fun we had & the satisfaction we got from the job in the early 90s...forget it mate that's long gone, and you're better off out of it"

That's pretty sad for me to hear! I want to apply to be an SFO and the hopefully CO19, in a few years ... and to be honest, a lot of the copper mates I have, are pretty despondent about the job now as well .... too much paperwork, too much red tape and bureaucracy! It's sad.London Boy wrote:The BS was why I left the police in 96 and migrated to Sweden, before it got really bad.Wholley wrote: currently thinking of early retirement as the BS she has to deal with is making it almost impossible to actually teach.

I'll still go for it though
