Support For Bush

Post by Whitey »

On another thread someone inquired on why Americans support Bush right or wrong? Well this is simple. Number one reason is propaganda. The same tactics we use to coerce people abroad are now being used at home. For instance all of our News channels constantly run terror stories coupled with mentions of 9/11 to keep folks afraid, then they only show the President in favorable light, when he makes a foolish remark that even the most unintelligent can pick up on it isn't repeated on the major networks. There is a terror alert icon on the telivision screen that seems to appear whenever the president has been found in a compromising situation. Just like when the Englishman who was in the know on WMD was found dead in the park, Englishmen and Americans started to raise questions, then the news casters brought up all kinds of terrror warnings, the Icon hit the screen, and within hours Uday and Qusay were surrounded and killed, those headlines dominated the news for over a week and everyone forgot about WMD and the suicide of the top man in england. Subsequently Bush's approval rating was lifted. The American people have never been deceived on this scale before so they weren't expecting it. There is also the "My country right or wrong" made up of a majority of people who never served in the military who think that statement makes up for their lack of guts. An idiot's phillosophy if you ask me. Then their are the people who shout "Anti-American" and to that I say "When does asking questions and pointingout the obvious make you Anti-American?" I was taught quite the opposite as a young boy in this very same country. I was taught that only Russians, Communist, Socialist, Tribalist and their ilk could not question their govt. and that being American gave me the God given right as a free man to question everything.
The repitition of the propaganda influences them as well, if you tell someone something enough they will believe it. Many people one on one will in private admit they are suspicious, but in public they cheer the status quo. I think as long as the economy is improving, TV, Internet, and Wal-Mart are avaiable our people generally don't care what the leaders do or by what means their creature comforts come by. But that is my take. As for Bush I thought he'd be better than Clinton and Gore, but he is the same. Clinton took our right to bear arms, Bush is taking our freedom of speech and privacy. The Republican and Democratic party are a trap, both just want to liquidate American God given rights and freedom to use to feed their insatiable hunger for power.

Yep, govt. has gotten bigger with him, and now he has dragged England into the mess. Home Land Security is just the S.S. by another name. I never thought I'd see the day when an American president would disinfranchise his own people, let a ego maniac Attorney General loose on the people while taking away the protection of the constitution. Then again Robert E. Lee said he never thought he'd see an American president raise an army against his own people.

I'll vote for the Devil in 2004 rather than Bush if that is my only choice. Bankrupt the country, squander the surplus, uphold Clintons unconstitutional laws, and drop ordinance on goat herders to distract the masses. This is rediculous. I want the Second Ammendment Restored and the PC campaign that threatens freedom of speech to cease. The Republicans and Democrats are one in the same, they both want our freedom and money.

Yes I am a Southerner, I'm not a member of any white hate group, I pay my taxes, obey laws even if I find them to be stupid( like having to wear a seat belt whe a motorcyclist can ride without a helmet) and I've served in the military, have a 4.0 GPA at the University, and married to an Asian. I think that strict constitutionalism is our foundation upon all our freedoms that at the time seem to be going down the drain. I believe in taxation to a point, but giving 400 billion of our financed tax dollars to a lost 3rd world cause is insanity. Since the 29 Palms Military Arms Confiscation survey was handed out in 1994, I beleive like never before in the 2nd Ammendment. Without the arms in private hands any regime could and might turn against the people, I support it for the sheer reason that freedom only exist's with checks and balances. The right to bear arms keeps tyrants in check and is the best defense of the home land, plus the ammendment reads "Congress shall make no law infringing upon the citizens right to bear arms" which they have infringed on, commiting an act of treason that Americans over look as long as Super Wal-Mart keeps slashing prices. Freedom of speech has been attacked with the Political Correctness campaign and a million suckers seeking acceptance and to speak eloquently have tossed their rational minds and mouths for social acceptance. The whole affirmative action thinhg is against the Bill of Rights. Equality under God and the Law. That means if a black and white man commit the same crime they should serve the same sentence, not give medeocraty a leg up for schools, jobs or promotions based on race or minority / gender status.
Being Southern and an A history student I can see that the war of northern agression was not fought to free slaves, but to control commerce, to tax cotton heavily to pay off the federal deficit. If lincoln had pulled that stunt in this century the UN would have bombed the north. A civil war is fought between two sides to gain control of a central govt. The south was fighting to be left alone, slavery was being phased out in the south, it couldn't be phased out over night without ruining the economy.
After the war the Noble North freed blacks but enslaved them, along with women and children in its sweat shops and factories. Lincoln was a fan of Karl Marx and loved the communist manifesto. 2/3 majority decided to depend on self determination and lincoln like Hitler, Milosovich, and other tyrants murdered my people for it. Only in recent time has freeing slaves been the reason for the war of Northern Agression. That lie prevents most from actually looking any deeper. I have met more racist's in Boston than in Burmigham.
Now we have an economic issue that we are dealing with under the guise of a war on terror.
Tell me where was the USAF on 9/11? 4 planes off course, known to be hijacked, over 2 hours from the first plane crash to the last and no USAF? Protocal from the NTSB says that NORAD is to be alerted immediatly if any aircraft strays off of course for over 15 minutes, in 1999 a private jet lost compression and the crew passed out. The USAF responded and intercepted in less than 12 minutes, what happened on 9/11? The air space above the White House has always been closed, and the flight that hit the Pentegon flew over it twice. I don't have the answer's but I want them as a citizen of a free Republic. You should want them too.
There are many more questions that lack answers, I won't be satisfied like a 6 year old with the answer "Because they hate our freedom" I want a better answer than, one on a rational level.
Being Southern and wanting to be left alone, to have the right to self determination and to have adult rational answers given to my questions have nothing to do with the region I was born. Every American deserves these rights.

Well 21 I'll be damned. I wasn't aware I was offending anyone. People here call me an American, and 50 States make up this country and I'm only from one of them, I'm not offended by the generality, guess I'm not that shallow. However tell me what ethnic, cultural, super nationalist group you belong to and I will try to make reference to that if I can remember too. I figured Englishmen was a good term, not a term that is looked down upon like the N word blacks in America use to greet each other, or Honkey the term whites from the south are often referred to. I heard a RM call another RM a w@#k once, do you belong to that group? I'm ignorant please help me become politically correct and unoffensive. In all seriousness I'll stop using derogatory terms like Englishman if you are getting your feelings hurt. I am Irish and English as we say here in the US, and to think I was proud to think I was a descendent of English folks, all this time it was a bad thing. People must have laughed at me, I'm so ashamed. But yes please don't call me a Yankee. Those people north of the Mason Dixon line are Yankees, I'm a Reb all the way to be technical.
I listen to Dixie, fly the 3rd National, eat all my food fried in hog fat, drink sour mash, have a strong relationship with Guns and Jesus and live my life the way I want to without prying into my neighbors lives. Yankees are the opposite. I'll also have you know that 70% of our military is recruited from the south. Southerners are primarily Scottish, Irish and Germanic descent, and very rebellious. Rebs! Yankees are queer people, who have no clear roots or blood lines, that live north and cruise the world looking for trouble to cure. Bush isn't really from Texas either, he's a generation removed from New England. Texas is just the oil capital of the US.

Off subject a bit but what the hell! United Kingdomers is that better?

I wasn't aware of the whole British thing really, my rant was mostly in jest though. I don't want an argument, just a few laugh's. Sorry for the offense to any of you I might of caled an Englishman out of my cultural stupidity. I really enjoy talking to you guy's, I hope my foolishness doesn't ruin any of our friendships.
BTW as a historian I realise King George wasn't all that bad. He taxed tea and stamps so we greedily had a revolution, today we Americans are taxed on everything conceivable and don't seem to care. Maybe rebellion was our loss after all. My hatis off to you UK, British, Irish, Scotsmen Welsh, and any others here I may have left out. You are the most sensable people I've come into contact with in 7 years.

I'm just glad to talk to you guy's. :D
