'New series. James Nesbitt stars in this drama about the lives of three friends and soldiers during the British forces' five-year occupation of Iraq and its aftermath. He's an actor - and, incidently, a very good guy (from a personal point of view)

I'm finding it a bit too BBC for me.........

Just watched the second part and to be honest I understand what the writers are trying to do but I think they're failing. Is it a Love story trying to show the differences in the 2 cultures?or is it trying to point out the affects of PTSD and the occupation? Just one of those points would have done.

Prefered Linda La Plants 'Civvies' back in the day.
'Paddysprat' a phrase used when explaining the origins of an 'Army Brats' accent.

I agree. They're trying to fit too much in. If they had just stuck to one topic perhaps they could have given it a better quality feel?

Yup, far too much. Practically lacking coherence let alone quality.

Also the son seems to get through his app and training very quickly doesn't he? Taken me far longer and I've still 6 months to wait
