Family Life...

Post by wlshyd »

Hi folks,

I'll explain my situation. Basically i have always wanted to fly commercially, and am doing my PPL and going to do my CPL, but have also wanted to go in the RAF. I am currently looking at WSO(p) positions, but the issue i have is that i have recently become engaged to my gorgeous girlfriend, and she is settling down into her career where we live in Cheshire.

My concerns are that our life will not be able to continue together if i join the force and that living together will be hard as well. Is there anywhere i could get some information about life in the force with loved ones, as i am desperate to join, not to mention the £30k+ to help me pay for my commercial flying!!

Any help or people i could speak to would be brilliant, whether is be pointers or things i could use to persuade her it;s a good idea then great!!

Thanks in advance

try ringing your local careers office, they will tell you all you need to know about how the living arrangements work.
however this may have a little propaganda thrown in as well so mabye also try routing around these forums trying to find alreadt serving members who live in married quarters etc ( there are quite a few) they may not neccassarily use this part of forums so have a look around all the different forums on this site.

hope this helps, coop
